The evening trains are quicker
On the timetable for Tuesday 15 September 2026, daytime trains leave Peterborough at 54 minutes past each hour and reach Nuneaton after about 1 hour 14 minutes. The trouble is what happens next. In the morning, the Rugby connection either involves another change at Coventry or a wait of more than an hour. By evening the connections at Nuneaton tighten up to between 11 and 18 minutes.
| Leaves Peterborough | Change at | Arrives Rugby | Journey |
|---|---|---|---|
| 08:54 | Nuneaton, Coventry | 11:15 | 2 h 21 min |
| 08:54 | Nuneaton only | 11:26 | 2 h 32 min |
| 18:54 | Nuneaton | 20:39 | 1 h 45 min |
| 20:54 | Nuneaton | 22:33 | 1 h 39 min |
| 22:00 | Nuneaton | 23:38 | 1 h 38 min |
The morning train waits over an hour at Nuneaton. The 08:54 arrives there at 10:08, and if you stay for the next Rugby train you leave at 11:11. Taking the connection via Coventry instead saves 11 minutes. If you can travel after work, the evening trains beat both options comfortably.
These patterns come from one weekday timetable and change from season to season. Plan your connections with National Rail Enquiries.
