Arriving at one in the morning is fine. Take the 00:29 and you reach Rugby at 00:59, then walk to 123 Railway Terrace in about 10 minutes. There is no reception desk waiting for you: the door code is the last four digits of your reservation number, and it works around the clock.

Driving: north on the M1, off at Junction 18

From central Milton Keynes the road route is about 38 miles. Take the A509 out to the M1, head north, and leave at Junction 18, which is signed for Rugby and the rail freight terminal. From the junction, the A428 (Crick Road) runs west into Rugby.

Junction 18 is also where DIRFT, the Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal, sits. If your work is on that estate, you will pass it on the way to us every morning.

We have six on-site parking spaces, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and watched by CCTV. From 18:00 to 08:00, parking on Railway Terrace outside the building is also free. We don’t give a driving time for the M1 stretch, because it swings too much with traffic to be worth quoting.

Who comes up from Milton Keynes, and for how long

The trip is short enough that nobody stays here just to break a journey. The bookings that make sense are for work or family commitments in and around Rugby that last longer than a day.

  • Contract work around the M1 and M6 corridor, where a week in a room with a kitchen beats a daily motorway run. Our page for HS2 engineers working near Rugby and Daventry covers longer site placements.
  • Rugby School visits, from open days to the end of term. See our guide for Rugby School parents.
  • Moving to the area, when your new home in Rugby isn’t ready on the day your Milton Keynes one is sold. Our house move page explains how longer stays work.

Settling in for more than a night

A week away feels different when you can cook, and all 16 of our rooms come with a kitchenette. Washing clothes in the first-floor guest laundry is free, and any stay of seven nights or longer includes a weekly housekeeping visit. Economy doubles, studios and a premium apartment with its own bedroom are compared side by side on our rooms page.

Bringing a dog or cat? Pets stay only in our ground-floor Deluxe Studio rooms, at £30 per pet per stay. Check-in opens at 15:00, and on your last morning the room needs to be free by 10:30. Cancellation and house rules are all in our guest guide and hotel policies.
